Model #62: Calcined lime / lime cooler
2100°F maximum temperature
|
 |
Accurate level control of very hot products [e.g. calcined lime 1,600°F to 2,100°F] has historically been difficult and expensive.
Nuclear source sensors have been used with some degree of success. However, with the advent of increasing licensing, safety and paperwork costs, it is fast becoming prohibitively expensive to use nuclear technology.
|
In 1988, A2D2 Electronics developed a contact point level sensor robust enough to withstand the harsh temperature environments associated with lime kilns and contact coolers. To date this system has been operating in more than 10 lime plants in the United States, with additional installations over seas.

Bin-Sense features and advantages
|
Flush mount capacitance type point level sensor
detects the presence or absence of material directly contacting the 2.5" sensor disk, which does not intrude on the product stream. |
 |
Robust construction and ceramic head
allows continuous operation in temperatures up to 2100°F. |
Non-nuclear
Replaces nuclear sensors and the need to comply with government regulations on nuclear devices. |
